PricewaterhouseCoopers and the sustainable development

PricewaterhouseCoopers carries out auditing and consulting assignments for businesses of all sizes from the public and private sector, focusing on sectoral approaches, guaranteeing confidence, trust and value-added for its clients and all of its stakeholders. More than 155,000 people work in its network spanning 153 countries, sharing viewpoints, experiences and solutions in order to offer innovative perspectives and advice tailored to each issue.

The consulting branch of PricewaterhouseCoopers, the Advisory, offers a complete range of expertise enabling it to help businesses and organisations to achieve lasting performance improvements, working with them on four key areas, while managing any risks and crises: managing their growth operations, improving their organisation, ensuring control over their costs, and managing people. The diversity of the profiles and the quality and track record of its 800 professionals in France, 8,700 in Europe and 22,500 around the world, represent its main strength.

PricewaterhouseCoopers, pioneering the way for sustainable development consulting

PricewaterhouseCoopers was one of the first firms, as early as 1993, to develop a range of services around sustainable development, which was further strengthened in 2000 by the integration of Ecobilan, the product strategy and environmental performance improvement market leader serving both industry and government.

With close to 50 consultants in France and 800 members of staff present in 45 countries, the sustainable development teams’ ability to operate internationally is coupled with the capabilities of the consulting branch’s other services.

Ecobilan and PwC Sustainable Business Services

Since 1990, Ecobilan has been assisting industry and government with their decisions by evaluating the environmental performance of products and services. Supported by a number of environmental analysis and management applications, Ecobilan provides services, methodologies and tools that promote the integration of environmental performance within an organisation’s various activities. Ecobilan is recognised as a leader for the application of life cycle assessments (LCA) to Technologies, Services and Products. The LCA looks at the impact of extended systems (sequences of industrial operations) on the environment, applied to industrial strategy and product design.

In France, PricewaterhouseCoopers works with Landwell, a correspondent law firm, which has a dedicated section for sustainable development expertise.

The construction sector, and more specifically building, is one of the major areas in which Ecobilan provides services.

The Sustainable Business Solutions department of PwC is managed by Thierry Raes and Sylvain Lambert
